Windermere Weekly Parent Update 11.10.17
“The days are long but the years are short.”
What a great week it has been at Windermere! It was topped off today with our travels to Australia. We had an absolute blast learning all about Australia’s songs, dances, history, people, landforms and animals. It’s going to be a great year, learning more throughout the upcoming months. Every grade level participated and did an excellent job. Make sure you ask your child(ren) about their travels today! We are “citizens of the world.” And, of course, a very special thank you to Mrs. D. We love you and appreciate all you do!
As I watch my own children grow and mature, the quote above was shared with me a few days ago by a friend. Although many days fly, there are days with our children that can be long and challenging. However, when I look at pictures I am often in amazement how the years fly by so quickly. I truly feels like, "wasn't that just yesterday?" With my three children in elementary, middle school and high school, I try to work hard to focus on quality time. I’m looking forward to enjoying some of that time this weekend. I wish each of you a fantastic weekend with your family! Enjoy this cold, fall weather with your "growing" children.
Tomorrow is a very important day. A very special thank you to the many Veterans who are our friends and family members. Tomorrow we celebrate you. Our words can’t begin to express our sincere gratitude for your service.
With appreciation for the many Windermere parents, grandparents, extended family members and friends who have so bravely served our country,

From the Nurse’s Office: This is a gentle reminder to keep your child(ren) home from school until they have been fever free for 24 hours. We are entering cold/flu season, and want to keep our population as healthy as possible. Please remind your children of the importance, too, of frequent hand washing. Thank you so much!
Bike Helmets: The U.A. Fire Division has children-sized bike helmets that they would like to provide. If your child is in need of a helmet and you would like help with this, please let me know and I will get one to you.
Winter Coats: Also, please let Katie O’Keefe know if your child is in need of a winter coat. The district has received some new winter coats for families who need them.
Bear Essentials: UAHS’s Bear Essential store has extended hours. Please see the attached flyer.
