Windermere Weekly Parent Update 9.15.17
Updates from Mrs. Nolan:
Yesterday, we practiced an evacuation with all of our students and staff. As I shared with our students when we arrived at UALC, I was beyond PROUD of how they practiced the Windermere Way throughout our drill. EVERY student was respectful, responsible and ready to learn! We had over 500 students and adults walking to Upper Arlington Lutheran Church in a straight line, quietly, and listening intently to every direction of the adults. Please take time to talk to your child about this drill and commend him/her about taking this so seriously. As I shared with you in a previous update, we practice drills regularly in Upper Arlington so that we all know what to do in the event of a real emergency.
I hope you enjoy your weekend. Next Friday marks the official arrival of fall. It's hard to believe we are already 4.5 weeks into our school year. It's been a fantastic start. Thank you for sending your children to us ready to learn!
With pride in my heart for our students who work hard to exhibit the Windermere Way throughout their entire day,

From Ms. Maria: Many parents filled out Info Snap after the power school roll over took place. That means if you have a new phone number or email, it did not populate. You will need to contact Ms. Maria to make sure we have the most current/up to date information.
Attention room parents, room reps, room coordinators and party planners: This year's room parent orientation will be held on Monday, September 18. The morning session begins at 9 a.m. and will be held at Mountview Church, 2140 Fishinger Road. The evening session begins at 6 p.m.and will be held in the UAHS cafeteria. Thank you for taking the time to attend this important training.
PARENT BOOK TALK Our school counselor, Katie O'Keefe, and our Syntero clinician, Larysa Gilbert, will be facilitating a book talk for Windermere Parents. Based on a survey sent out by Katie in August, the majority of parents said they would like to read How to Talk so Kids Will Listen...And Listen So Kids Will Talk by Adele Faber. This will be an opportunity to meet other parents, learn ways to create relationships with your children (tots to teens) and establish an open dialog in a relaxed setting. The book talk will take place on October 17 at 7 pm. Location TBD. If you are interested in attending, please sign up so we can get an idea of how many parents to expect. We are looking forward to discussing this book with those of you interested in participating!
