The third annual State of the Schools on Monday, January 30, will also feature student and teacher performances and displays in the Learning Fair.
The district's five elementary schools will offer kindergarten information nights in February for parents looking to enroll children for 2017-2018.
After collecting community feedback, the Board of Education has approved the superintendent's recommendation for a long-term facilities master plan.
Senior portraits can be sent to the Norwester yearbook staff anytime between now and the end of first semester. A digital file (jpg, 600x600 minimum ppi) is preferred; a high-quality, wallet-sized photo can also be sent, though digital images often print better in the book. The pose may be either formal or informal; however, it should be a head and shoulders shot, and no costumes or "props" should be used in the photo. Please title the image file with your name as you would like it to appear in the yearbook (or write the name on the back of the actual photo) and send it to firstname.lastname@example.org or to the high school (Attn: Norwester). DEADLINE: First day of second semester, Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017
The Upper Arlington girls water polo team captured its third consecutive state championship and its 16th overall with an 11-3 win over Napoleon.
After approximately six months of collecting community feedback on whether to repair, renovate or rebuild Upper Arlington's aging schools, Superintendent Paul Imhoff made his recommendation to the Board of Education on a facilities master plan.
