Upper Arlington Education Foundation Facilities Private Fundraising Development Director

The Upper Arlington Education Foundation (UA+Ed) is seeking an experienced, organized and enthusiastic person to fill the position of Facilities Private Fundraising Development Director.  This will be a (30-40 hours/week) full-time position for a period of approximately two years, beginning fall 2018.

The Development Director will support the mission of UA+Ed by overseeing a $7.5 million private fundraising program (campaign) for use in the construction and renovation of six school buildings. The Development Director will work under the direction of the UA+Ed Executive Director and in collaboration with UA Schools staff to meet or exceed the expectations of the private fundraising steering committee as voiced by its chairperson.

Responsibilities include:
  • Develop and oversee the $7.5 million private fundraising program; 
  • Work with the private fundraising steering committee to identify potential donors, provide support materials and maintain contact records; 
  • Develop strategies to cultivate and maintain relationships with potential donors, and communicate those strategies with the steering committee;
  • Maintain a calendar of contact points between steering committee members and potential donors;
  • Attend all steering committee meetings, and in cooperation with the steering committee chairperson, create meeting agendas and materials, keep meeting minutes;
  • Attend meetings with potential donors and other stakeholders as necessary;
  • Maintain ongoing communication with the steering committee and stay up-to-date on design and construction plans for each building, including available naming opportunities;
  • Plan fundraising events and donor receptions with guidance and assistance from UA+Ed and UA Schools staff;
  • Develop and maintain print and electronic informational pieces regarding the goals and status of the fundraising program;
  • Work with UA+Ed to maintain a tracking system for donors;
  • Create and maintain financial records using UA+Ed accounting process and procedures;
  • Create and maintain gift recognition programs; and
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the UA+Ed and the steering committee.
