About the Board of Education

Stacey Royer, President

Stacey Royer Stacey Royer and her husband, John, have lived in Upper Arlington for more than 20 years and are the proud parents of three children. Royer earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Michigan and a master’s degree in labor and human resources from The Ohio State University. She spent more than ten years working in human resources and the non-profit world. Royer has served as the president of the parent-teacher organizations at Windermere Elementary School and Hastings Middle School. She also chaired the scholarship committee for the Upper Arlington High School PTO, served on two strategic planning committees and has been a member of the Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment Professional Learning Community since its inception. She was re-elected to the Board of Education in November of 2015. Her term began January 1, 2016 and ends December 31, 2019.

Nancy Drees, Vice President

Nancy Drees Nancy Drees and her husband, David, have lived in Upper Arlington since 1991. They are the proud parents of three Upper Arlington High School graduates. Drees earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business and previously worked as a corporate assistant vice president at U.S. Bancorp in Minneapolis. Drees serves on a number of nonprofit boards including the Upper Arlington Education Foundation, the Upper Arlington Community Improvement Corporation, and the Upper Arlington School District Business Advisory Council. She led the parent-teacher organizations at Upper Arlington High School and Greensview Elementary School and also co-chaired the Hastings Middle School Outdoor Learning Center committee. Drees received the Upper Arlington Rotary Woman of the Year Award in 2010. She was re-elected to the Board of Education in November of 2015. Her term began January 1, 2016 and ends December 31, 2019.

Scott McKenzie

Scott McKenzie Scott McKenzie has been a resident of Upper Arlington since 1987. He and his wife, Lori, are proud parents of a current Upper Arlington High School student, and he is also the parent of a UAHS graduate. McKenzie has worked in public education for 38 years in varying roles from teacher to superintendent. Most recently, he served as superintendent of Groveport Madison Schools. Since his retirement from education in 2012, McKenzie has led the marketing and sales division of Dynamix Energy Services. He earned a bachelor’s of arts degree from Capital University and his master’s degree in education from Xavier University. He has been an active community member for many years, serving as the chairman for the Board of Trustees for the Upper Arlington Education Foundation. He has also served as a community consultant on the Financial Advisory Consulting Team for Upper Arlington Schools and as a board member of the Ohio Parks and Recreation Association. McKenzie was elected to the Board of Education in November of 2017. His term began on January 1, 2018 and ends on December 31, 2021.

Carol Mohr

Carol Mohr

Carol Mohr and her husband, Bill, have lived in Upper Arlington for more than 20 years.  She is the proud mother of two Upper Arlington High School graduates and a long-time volunteer for the UA Orchestra Parents Association and the Boy Scouts.  Mohr earned her bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and she volunteers as an interviewer for high school applicants to MIT.  Mohr received her bachelor's of science in nursing from Capital University and practices as a registered nurse at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Mohr was re-elected to the Board of Education in November of 2017.  Her term began January 1, 2018 and ends on December 31, 2021.

MARJORY PIZZUTI

Marjory Pizzuti
Marjory Pizzuti and her husband, Jerry, have been residents of Upper Arlington for 45 years. She is the proud mother of two Upper Arlington High School graduates. Pizzuti earned a bachelor of arts degree in journalism and American studies from Kent State University. She has an extensive background in strategic marketing, communications and public affairs. Since 2005, she has served as the president and CEO of Goodwill Columbus. In addition, Pizzuti serves on numerous community boards in the Columbus area, including the Upper Arlington Community Foundation. Pizzuti previously served on the Upper Arlington Board of Education from 2001 through 2013. In August 2019, she was appointed to the Board of Education to serve the remainder of the term of Robin Comfort after her passing in July 2019. The term ends on December 31, 2019.
