Accountability

The mission of the accountability and professional development department is to serve the staff, students, and community in the areas of accountable measures and professional learning. We work to ensure the success of all Upper Arlington students through monitoring student achievement and providing relevant professional learning to our staff.

Assessment Calendars

Upper Arlington students annually participate in district-wide and state-wide testing. This information helps us to assess the overall achievement of our students, the efficacy of our schools and the rigor of our curriculum.

If you have questions about district or state testing, please feel free to contact Data & Accountability Coordinator Mark Saelzler, your child’s building principal, school counselor, classroom teacher.

Assessment Pathways

Benchmarking student achievement and monitoring progress are critical parts of providing a high quality education. This information helps guide our teachers in supporting students' educational needs, and planning instruction accordingly. It also allows us to measure the individual growth of our students, to gauge the success of the instruction, and to understand how students are responding to it. Upper Arlington City Schools has developed separate assessment pathways for each grade-level that teachers follow in order to ensure accuracy in this process. For information on the pathway that your child’s teacher will use to benchmark and progress monitor with various district assessments, click the appropriate grade level below.
