Community Service Seal

Community Service Seal

Students who choose to “SERVE, LEAD, SUCCEED” through community service gain memorable experiences, build character and contribute to their community.

The Community Service Seal is given to any UAHS student who completes 60 hours of community service during their time as an Upper Arlington student. This seal will be applied to their final transcript and represents this accomplishment. All hours need to be submitted on x2Vol and hours need to be completed during the following time frames:

Class of 2024: June 1, 2020 - April 1, 2024

Class of 2025: June 1, 2021 - April 1, 2025

Class of 2026: June 1, 2022 - April 1, 2026

Class of 2027: June 1, 2023 - April 1, 2027

To record your hours on x2Vol:

  • sign in to your Naviance Student Dashboard.

  • Record your hours. Need help with posting your hours on x2Vol?

  • Remember! Under  “Apply Hours to Goals” click “Apply to all non-exclusive goals.” This will allow you to apply your hours to the President's Volunteer Service Award and/or Senior Service Cord, if you would like to be considered for these awards.

  • If you are a senior, your hours will be approved by April 20, 2024. A list of Seniors who will be receiving the Community Service Seal will be posted after April 20, 2024.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:  If you put more than 16 hours in a single day, you must include the details about specific dates and times the service was completed in the “notes” section. For example, putting 30 hours in one day and saying “worked as a camp counselor” will not be acceptable. Please include the details that provide clarification, such as: “I worked 5 hours a day on July 10 - July 15, 2023 for a total of 30 hours.” Your hours will not be approved without the details.

All volunteer activities are subject to the UA Rules for Community Service:

  • Completed without pay.

  • Completed for someone other than a family member.

  • Completed for the school or service agency/organization. Volunteering with “for-profit” companies is not considered community service, unless you are participating in a community event sponsored by a “for-profit” company.

  • Youth in the Booth does not count as community service, unless you have donated your pay and can produce a receipt.

  • All political activities must be non-partisan (i.e., working for the League of Women Voters or Get Out the Vote. NOT - working for a specific campaign for a candidate)

  • Extended service trips/camps can receive a maximum of 18 hours per day. This includes 6th grade camp (maximum of 48 hours for 6th grade camp).

  • Religious activities count with the exceptions of teaching or preaching.
