For the 2017-2018 school year, the Upper Arlington school district will begin using a new progress report for elementary students that a team of teachers and administrators has worked on for more than a year.
Our goals for this progress report:
- Provide concise and consistent communication about the growth of the whole child;
- Reflect student mastery of the learning standards in the progress report;
- Promote ongoing conversation between teachers and families; and
- Celebrate each child’s progress.
The first thing families will notice is that the progress reports are going online for all students in K-12. Beginning this fall, families will access their student’s progress report through PowerSchool, the district’s student information system.
In late October, a few weeks before the elementary progress reports are ready, families of elementary students will receive a letter in the mail with personalized instructions on how to access the site.
In addition, we’ve updated the learning standards and added more detail to the grading scale to better explain how your student is doing in a particular area. Please continue reading for more information about the grading scale.
