Job Shadowing

Job shadowing experiences help our students answer the questions: What do I like to do? What are my gifts? Talents? Fascinations? What comes next? Eighth graders shadow parents and other family members to gain a greater understanding of the world of work.  Ninth graders select shadowing sponsors, other than parents, whose work reflects each student’s interests. These shadowing experiences are part of the larger process of career exploration, helping student make decisions about course selections, part-time jobs, volunteer work and college choices.

All shadowing takes place on the National “Take Your Child to Work Day,” which is always on the fourth Thursday in April.

COVID-19 UPDATE: All in-person shadowing opportunities for the 2021-2022 school year are under review due to the COVID-19 situation.
