Jane Mead is a master's prepared registered nurse and licensed school nurse. Jane has spent 19 years serving as a School Nurse and Clinic Nurse in the Upper Arlington City School District.
Jane is the school nurse for Jones Middle School. Jane specializes in the care of students with complex medical needs. As school nurse Jane strives to maximize in-class time of students through the reduction of health issues and the ability to define and address the medical needs of the school population. Jane collaborates with teaching teams, develops Individual Health Plans, 504’s, and emergency action plans. Jane has advanced education in emergency preparedness.
In 2019 Jane received the Golden Apple Award for Jones Middle School for outstanding excellence in education presented by Upper Arlington Civic Association. Jane's leadership experience includes serving as the Upper Arlington City Schools District Safety Committee co-chair for 7 years. Created and published the Crisis Plan Flip Chart that provides easy access information to all school staff during an emergency (in its 4th printing). Revised and printed the District Health Services Policy and Procedure Manual (2007) used by all district nurses and created an electronic version of the Health Services Manual (2015-16). Jane participated in creating guidelines for a Food Allergy Policy for the Upper Arlington School District.
