Upper Arlington Schools has school counselors in all K-12 school buildings who seek to support the needs of all students, collaboratively working with teachers and related staff to ensure the academic and social-emotional success of our students both here in Upper Arlington and in their next step in life.
Our school counseling curriculum aims to help students:
Understand the skills needed to achieve academically and deal with academic challenges;
Learn how to manage emotions and apply interpersonal skills; and
Recognize their skills and interests, and understand the options that are available in their future following graduation.
Our school counselors offer direct and indirect support to students through classroom lessons; small group or individual counseling; and collaboration with staff, parents/guardians and community agencies. When needed, they will seek referrals for additional support through our partnerships with Syntero and Ohio State.
