Upper Arlington Bridge

An alternative to the traditional school setting, the Upper Arlington Bridge is designed to meet the needs of students who would benefit from individualized support to achieve their academic and personal goals. The Upper Arlington Bridge creates a safe, respectful environment that integrates technology, personalized instruction, and supportive relationships.

The program will be located at the Upper Arlington Hub building located in a newly renovated building near Jones Middle School. Students will experience a repurposed space focused on student learning, flexibility and community.

Personalized Learning Plans

The Upper Arlington Bridge is staffed by full-time teachers in each of the core content areas as well as an intervention specialist. A school-based mental health practitioner and building administration are also part of the Upper Arlington Bridge team.

The focus of each student’s personalized learning plan at the Upper Arlington Bridge will include:

  • Academic Focus: A blended learning environment will support the individual needs of students including credit recovery, credit advancement and personalized intervention.

  • Student Support Focus: Counseling services will be available to work with students and families and help set up students for success.

  • Goal Setting Focus: Short and long term goals will be established upon student enrollment. Goals will be monitored by students, staff and communicated with family members.

Academic Program

Students have access to the catalog of Edgenuity courses spanning the core subject areas: Social Studies, English Language Arts, Science and Mathematics. Personalized learning plans will help students gain credit through both required and elective courses. All courses will be a blended learning environment where students will be able to engage in online content, learn at their personal pace, and engage with teachers in a small learning environment.

Program Hours

A morning session from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and an afternoon session from 12:05 p.m. to 3:05 p.m. are offered to students. Students have the flexibility to take elective courses back at their home high school, participate in co-curricular activities and all aspects of student life. The Upper Arlington Bridge program works with students and families to develop a plan that meets their individual needs. Students also have the option of driving to the UA Hub with the purchase of a parking pass.
