Academic Programs

The successful pursuit of academic excellence for all Upper Arlington students involves a whole-child philosophy that respects intellectual, emotional and social learning and growth. Our district provides many academic options not available in other public school districts. We want to provide our students with the academic opportunities and the social-emotional skills they need to be successful in our fast-changing world.
Through Advanced Placement courses, the International Baccalaureate program and College Credit Plus opportunities, Upper Arlington students can choose from a variety of opportunities to experience college-level coursework and get a head start on earning college credit.
The Senior Capstone Project is the culmination of each student’s academic experience at Upper Arlington High School. This is a genuine way for seniors to merge their interests, passions and curiosities with their academic goals.
College Credit Plus is a program that gives high school students an opportunity to be enrolled in both high school and college course work at the same time.
Upper Arlington High School has developed and implemented state-mandated “flexible credit” options for our students. With flex credit, students will be able to show what they know and move on to other more advanced classes or take elective courses in other departments.
Working with EF, Upper Arlington Schools are committed to providing teachers and their students with travel opportunities to the world’s most educational destinations.
The Upper Arlington High School Research and Design lab is a conceptual space to explore, prototype and design innovative approaches to teaching and learning.
In keeping with the District’s mission to challenge and support every student, every step of the way, the Upper Arlington Board of Education is committed to providing a superior comprehensive summer school program for students.
