Deputy Superintendent
Stephanie Siddens, Ph.D., joined the Upper Arlington Schools as the deputy superintendent in July 2023.
Dr. Siddens has more than 26 years of experience in education, beginning her career as a program evaluation leader in Fairfax County Public Schools in Fairfax, Virginia, and Prince William County Public Schools in Manassas, Virginia. In 2006, she joined the Ohio Department of Education and has served in roles including the director of the office of early learning and school readiness, the senior executive director of the center for curriculum and assessment and the senior executive director for the center of student supports. She was selected to become the state’s interim superintendent in 2021, and oversaw all department programs and operations. Her career passions have focused on high-quality early childhood education, literacy instruction aligned to the science of reading, supporting the whole child, and providing students with engaging learning experiences that help them prepare for what is next.
She received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and a doctoral degree in educational psychology from The University of Iowa.
The deputy superintendent’s office oversees all aspects of the teaching and learning experience for the students and staff in the Upper Arlington Schools, including the Talent Office, Excellence & Engagement, Teaching & Learning and Student Services departments.
