The Ohio Department of Education reports four-year graduation rates on a one-year lag to include summer graduates. The 2023-2024 report card data, for instance, reflects graduates of the Class of 2023.

The Performance Index measures the state test results of every student, not just those who score proficient or higher. Districts receive points for every student who takes a test. If a student opts out of a state test, a district receives zero points for that student. 

This indicator measures academic growth based on a comparison of actual student growth and expected student growth determined by past performance. A composite of greater than 2 indicates that a district is exceeding growth expectations.
