Welcome to the Golden Bears Class of 2034!

Upper Arlington Schools is excited to welcome your children to kindergarten this fall! Children who will be 5 years of age on or before September 30, 2021, are eligible for kindergarten during the 2021-2022 school year.

NEW FOR THE 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR! Upper Arlington Schools is pleased to offer a full-day kindergarten program for the families of Upper Arlington beginning in the fall of 2021. Full-day kindergarten in Upper Arlington Schools will give our youngest learners more opportunities to learn and grow socially, emotionally and academically. For more about our all-day kindergarten program, please click here.

The kindergarten registration window will open on Monday, February 8. We encourage families to complete the registration process between February 8 and March 10 for staffing and planning purposes.

Families may follow the steps below to learn more about the kindergarten experience and the registration process.

Step 1: Attend a Kindergarten Information Night

All five elementary schools will offer virtual kindergarten information nights for parents/guardians of incoming kindergarteners. Zoom links for these information sessions are posted below.

To view a map of the elementary attendance areas, please visit www.uaschools.org/OurSchools.aspx.

Please note that Wickliffe Progressive Elementary School is a school of choice and does not have an attendance boundary as it offers the alternative progressive / informal program to students living in the Greensview, Tremont and Windermere attendance areas. Barrington Elementary School also offers the alternative progressive / informal program to students living in that attendance area.

In preparation for registration, please prepare digital copies of the documents listed in Step 3.

Step 2: Complete online registration forms

The online registration forms will be available on this page beginning Monday, February 8. Before you begin, you’ll want to gather the student’s family medical history and contact information for trusted, local adults the school could contact if parents and guardians cannot be reached during an emergency.

We encourage families to complete the registration process between Monday, February 8 and Wednesday, March 10 for staffing and planning purposes.

Step 3: Submit required documentation to finalize registration

After you complete the online registration forms (Step 2 above), you will be prompted to upload the following documentation within our online registration system. This is a new feature of our registration process designed to meet the needs of families during this unique school year. If needed, families may request an in-person meeting, or the district may request that a family bring in the required documentation in person.

The following documents must be submitted in order to complete your student’s registration:

  • Child’s birth certificate or passport.

  • Proof of residency (a deed or lease agreement showing the name of the residential parent/guardian or visit www.uaschools.org/StudentRegistrationInformation.aspx to view additional document options).

  • Custodial papers (current copy of divorce decree and shared parenting plan), if applicable.

  • Proof of immunization.

If you have any questions, or if you have difficulty uploading these documents, please email [email protected]. Depending on the volume of registrations and emails at the time, please allow for additional time to receive a response.

Step 4: Attend a kindergarten screening

Information about kindergarten screening appointments for incoming students will come at a later date.
