2023-2024 State Report Card Information

The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce has officially released the 2023-2024 annual school report cards. Notable for Upper Arlington Schools are the following highlights.

  • Upper Arlington Schools has earned the highest overall rating of five stars.  We are one of just 18 districts out of more than 600 districts in the state to achieve this rating.

  • Upper Arlington Schools is one of just six school districts in the state of Ohio to have earned five star ratings in all categories — achievement, progress, gap closing, graduation and early literacy — for three years in a row. Earning a five-star rating in each of these categories for three years in a row is exceptional, particularly in the area of growth, which, due to the way it is calculated, is difficult to achieve year after year.

  • The overall Performance Index score for Upper Arlington Schools has increased for the third year in a row.

This afternoon, the Board of Education held a special meeting at the Graf Center, 2020 Builders Place, to receive an update on the report card results.

“While we celebrate this recognition, we also recognize that it is just one data point we review in our pursuit of challenging and supporting every student, every step of the way,” said Superintendent Robert Hunt, Ph.D. “Our school district has been - and will continue to be - committed to the development of the whole child.

The district as a whole, as well as each school building, will dig into the data behind the report cards to prompt discussions about what is working for students and where there may be possible areas to improve. The district will also continue to evaluate all of the other data available to us regarding our students’ growth, achievement and well-being. You can read more about that in the Quality Profile, Upper Arlington Schools’ annual accountability report.
