Community conversation on Jones building set for May 11
Upper Arlington Schools is inviting all stakeholders to a community conversation focused on the history and future of the Jones Middle School building on May 11 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. in the Jones cafeteria, 2100 Arlington Avenue.
“We heard from an incredible 2,800 stakeholders through our spring survey opportunity on the draft recommendations for a phase two master plan,” Superintendent Robert Hunt, Ph.D., shared. “The purpose of this event is to further explore the sentiments and ideas that were shared on the option of rebuilding Jones before we make any final decisions on a master plan.”
The evening will include a brief overview of the master planning process for Jones, small-group discussions, and a guided building tour to see firsthand the current state of the building.
“This has been an incredible process shaped by the voices of our community at every step,” said Dr. Hunt. “This is one more step that we feel is essential to ensure we are developing a master plan that reflects the vision of our community.”
The Board of Education is expected to take action in May or June on the finalized phase two master plan, along with a potential combined operating levy and bond issue for the November 2026 ballot.
We would appreciate your RSVP for the community conversation on May 11 at this link so that we can appropriately plan for staffing for this event. To learn more about the facilities master planning process, please visit www.uaschools.org/facilities.
