Strength in Team Staff Spotlight: James Caldwell, Jones Middle School

James Caldwell, custodian, Jones Middle School

How do you contribute to your school/department and the school district as a whole? I contribute to my school by helping create a clean, safe and welcoming environment for students, staff and families each day. From maintaining classrooms and common areas to responding quickly when unexpected needs come, I take pride in making sure our building runs smoothly behind the scenes. 

What inspires you / motivates you in your role? Coming to school everyday and seeing the staff and students.

What is a memorable moment, or your proudest moment, in the 29 years you have been with UA Schools? There are too many for me to choose from. Jones is a special place.

What brings you joy outside of work? Watching sports, being outside, traveling and the Dallas Cowboys and the Buckeyes.

His commitment to providing quality work each and every day has helped create a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all who enter the building. Known for his positive attitude and constant smile, he brings energy, kindness and professionalism to everything he does. His years of service have made a lasting impact on the Jones Middle School community and the Upper Arlington School District as a whole.  We are fortunate to have him on our team, setting an example of excellence for all while embracing our core values.

Whether he is supporting daily operations, stepping in where needed or offering a friendly word to brighten someone’s day, James models what it means to serve with heart.
