Windermere Weekly Parent Update
Happy Memorial Day!!! I hope you have had the very best LONG weekend. It certainly was a taste of summer, that is for sure! Did we ever have spring?
With two days left of school, excitement is in the air! We have lots of fun activities planned this last week of school. It’s hard to believe our year is almost over. I wish each of you the very best summer. If you need anything please don’t hesitate to reach out to me.
Thank you for allowing me to love what I do. Our students, staff and families make Windermere an amazing school. I don’t ever take for granted how fortunate I am to be your principal! The staff and I are already planning for a great year next year! To our graduating fifth graders, don’t forget, you will always be a Hawk! My very best wishes to each of you.

Progress Reports go Live
A Mindset for Learning by Mraz and Hertz: As a staff, this summer many of us are taking a class to extend our learning on mindsets. Additionally, we are asking ALL staff at Windermere to read this book, because we believe these mindsets are important for our students and for us, as well. Since you are our partners, we wanted to share this book with you as well. If you are in interested in reading it, please do! Next year, we will highlight a different mindset each month in our classrooms, on announcements and through our newsletters/updates. This compliments the Windermere Way, our focus on reaching every child and our work in math. We are excited about this common language and understanding behind the mindsets and being able to communicate it both at school and at home.
Elementary Progress Report Information
Third trimester elementary progress reports will be available in PowerSchool (https://ps-uar.metasolutions.
net/public/home.html) on Tuesday, June 5.
In the fall we mailed each elementary family instructions for setting up a PowerSchool account in order to access the progress report(s) for your elementary student(s). If you need assistance with your log-in information or are new to the district for the third trimester, please call or email Ms. Maria, our secretary, in the Windermere office at 614-487-5060.

Staffing Changes/Additions for 2018-2019:
Mrs. Amy Meyer will be moving from teaching LIFT to second grade next year.
Mrs. Katy Salmons, kindergarten teacher, will be taking a year off to stay home with her son.
Ms. Ann Marie Cubberly, who is currently a kindergarten teacher at Barrington will be joining our kindergarten team. Welcome!
Mrs. Heather Swan, first grade teacher, will be taking a year off to stay at home with her family.
Mrs. Teresa Plattenburg, who is currently a second grade teacher at Windermere, will be joining our first grade team.
Mrs. Emily Adams will be returning to second grade! Welcome back.
Mrs. Jenny Meyer will be taking a one year’s leave of absence to stay at home with her family.
Mr. Brett Gambill will be returning to Windermere from Wickliffe. Mr. Gambill taught fifth grade here, and last year taught fourth grade at Wickliffe.
Ms. Megan Taylor will joining Windermere as our full time art teacher. She did her student teaching in Olentangy. Welcome!
Students who qualify to keep devices during summer
Students who qualify to keep the school issued device over the summer will have an optional $25 protection plan fee added to PowerSchool. Payments will only be accepted via EZPay. Qualifying programming is coordinated through HS 11th Capstone, HS college or correspondence courses, Summer Academy, Special Education, and the curriculum department for math bridge and literacy experiences. The technology department does not approve or disapprove requests to keep devices. Students must be actively enrolled in a district sponsored academic program as listed above. Coordinators of those programs have submitted lists to the technology department. The summer protection plan fee will need to be paid by June 4th to guarantee coverage. Those not paying the fee by June 4th will be fully responsible for all incidents of accidental damage through the August 13th. Traveling with the school device outside of the country during the summer is not permitted and will not be covered by the summer protection plan. June 4th is the first day of summer programming. This extension of the school year protection plan will cover 1 incident and does not cover accessories (charger).
Lost and Found: If your child has items that he or she has misplaced, you are welcome to stop in and check our lost and found. Please remind your child to take a look to see if he/she has lost sweatshirts, lunchboxes, jackets, etc. All of the leftover items will be donated after May 30th.

Thank You PTO Board – Today we had our final PTO Board meeting of the year. A special thanks to our wonderful volunteer board members: Heather Petzinger, Cara Aschliman, Kelley Ching, Krissy Malatesta, Monica Moyer, Michelle Hughes and Stori Rex for their time and efforts. We had a lot of success and fun over the past years. I’m sure they all felt duly compensated today when I bought them a free cup of coffee. Kidding - thank you ladies!
