Tremont Elementary School
Renovate Option in the Facilities Master Plan

Conceptual New Site Plan (click to enlarge)
This conceptual plan for a renovated Tremont Elementary School:
Renovates the educational spaces and replaces the aging building systems in the older core of the building;
Retains the 2015-2017 additions and renovations (the classroom wing/media center and gymnasium additions as well as the renovated cafeteria/kitchen, art rooms, orchestra rooms and main office with secure entry);
Builds a small classroom addition needed for projected enrollment growth on the north end of the building; and
Likely requires the temporary use of trailers during construction.
Additionally, the conceptual new site plan above shows the construction of baseball and softball diamonds and a turf field on the district-owned high school athletic fields that are located behind Tremont Elementary School. These permanent athletic spaces would be used by high school athletes both during and after the construction of a new high school. The reconstruction of the athletic spaces on the Tremont property would also include addressing drainage issues on that portion of the site. These fields would be open for use by the community when not in use by high school athletics and would retain the park-like atmosphere of the current fields.
If Upper Arlington voters approve Issue 43 on November 7, the district would immediately launch a design phase that would involve any and all community members, staff and students who wish to participate in the design of the six school buildings in the first phase of the master plan. The district would also form a green team of community members to explore environmental best practices for the new or renovated buildings. Residents living in the closest proximity to the buildings would have the opportunity to join a neighbor committee used throughout the design and construction process to gather feedback and input on the project.
Construction would tentatively begin on a renovated Tremont Elementary School in early 2019.
A renovated Tremont Elementary School would tentatively open to students for the start of the 2020-2021 school year.
