World Book Online – This site is available in the K-5 Resources through INFOhio. When you use this site from school computers you will not need a password. eNature Field Guides - Choose an animal category in blue to the right of the main picture.
Weather Underground – Look under the Severe Weather tab to see current or historic storms. The Photo/Video blog has video clips and photos of storms, etc. To see videos of historic storms, search the videos and scroll down to the type of natural disaster you are interested in learning about.
National Geographic for Kids – In the search box you can type the natural disaster you want to know about “tsunamis” “hurricanes”, etc. Some articles will lead you to short news articles.
Weather Wizkids Weather Safety – See what you can do to survive when natural disasters strike. Other parts of this site will also be helpful with research.
FEMA for Kids – The Federal Emergency Management Agency has a website describing different kinds of disasters, how to design a plan and what to put in a preparedness kit.
