Service-learning supports the mission of the UA district by providing engaging, authentic and relevant learning experiences allowing students to serve, lead and succeed. Service learning is a teaching and learning strategy that integrates meaningful community service with high quality academics, planning, preparation and reflection which enrich the learning experience while teaching civic responsibility and strengthening communities.

"Packing for the Streets" is in Mrs. Rankin’s room, room 102, right after school from 3:20-4:00. We’ll pack 100 meals for the homeless. No need to sign up; just show up!
Donations are always needed! We use 100% of the items donated. Bring donations labeled “Packing for the Streets” to the main office or to Mrs. Rankin’s room.
Items needed are:
Sandwich size Ziploc bags
Bottles of water
Individual size juice boxes or pouches
Fresh fruit or individual non-perishable fruit or applesauce cups
Individually wrapped packages of salty items--pretzels, crackers, chips
Individually wrapped sweet items--cookies, pudding cups and granola bars
Jelly or jam
Peanut or other type of non-perishable sandwich spread
