Building Our Future — Grand Opening Celebration

A new and state-of-the-art Upper Arlington High School and five new or renovated elementary schools welcomed thousands and thousands of students, alumni, families, staff and community members during the month of August to mark the completion of the first phase of the facilities master plan — on schedule and on budget. “These new buildings reflect Upper Arlington’s long-standing commitment to excellence in education,” said Superintendent Paul Imhoff, Ed.D.

Superintendent's Notes: New schools reflect community's vision for education

This is truly a great time to be a Golden Bear!


This fall, we celebrate an incredible milestone for the Upper Arlington community - the completion of the first phase of the facilities master plan for our schools - on schedule and on budget!


The master plan was a labor of love for so many volunteers from across our community.  We came together and took the necessary time to identify facilities needs and develop a financially responsible, student-centered plan for moving ahead.  Now, six years after our first facilities meetings, we have five fully renovated or rebuilt elementary schools and a state-of-the-art high school unlike any other in the Midwest.

Treasurer's Notes: Master planning process grew from financial focus

The milestone we reached this fall — the opening of six new or renovated school buildings —  reflects a vision from our community for not only the future of education in Upper Arlington Schools but also the long-term financial health of the district. 


The call for creating a facilities master plan came nearly seven years ago from a group of community experts in various areas of business and financial management. This group, known as the Productivity and Efficiency Work Group, identified the cost of maintaining the district’s aging school buildings as their biggest concern and urged the Upper Arlington Board of Education to engage the community in a master planning process.

Construction Update: New UAHS, elementary schools on schedule to open in August

As the end of the school year approaches, Upper Arlington Schools is looking ahead to many big milestones for the three remaining projects in the facilities master plan. The new high school, the new Windermere and the renovation project at Barrington are on schedule and on budget to open to students and staff in August. We are looking forward to welcoming our community into all of our new and renovated buildings in August - including the projects we’ve already completed: the new Greensview, the new Wickliffe, the new Tremont and the Barrington addition.

Upper Arlington High School farewell

Since the fall of 1956, the current Upper Arlington High School has sent off 63 graduating classes into their next chapter of life. This spring, the Class of 2021 will be the 64th - and final - class to graduate from the building at 1650 Ridgeview Road. At the end of the 2020-2021 school year, the current Upper Arlington High School will close to make way for the opening of the new school - at 1625 Zollinger Road - in August.

Construction Update: Big milestones ahead for new UAHS, elementary projects

As construction continues on schedule and on budget in the first phase of the facilities master plan, Upper Arlington Schools will be marking significant milestones in the coming months in preparation for the completion of the final three projects. 


The new Upper Arlington High School, the new Windermere Elementary School and the completed renovation project at Barrington Elementary School are on schedule to open to students for the start of the 2021-2022 school year in August. Last August, the new addition at Barrington, the new Greensview and Wickliffe, and the completed addition/renovation project at Tremont opened to students.
