Beginning with the fall athletics season, Jones and Hastings will be shifting to online ticketing for athletic events — similar to what was launched at the high school in the spring. Online ticketing provides for greater security of transactions for families and spectators while also allowing our athletics staff to run events more efficiently. Online tickets will be available initially for volleyball, soccer, football, basketball and wrestling only. There is no charge for entry at this time for other middle school sports.

At the heart of each school community in the Upper Arlington Schools is a parent-teacher organization that provides volunteers, educational opportunities and resources, and a sense of connection for students, staff and families.Families have many opportunities to participate in their school’s parent-teacher organization, or school association — starting with signing up to be a member of the PTO in the fall. The money raised through annual membership dues, as well as fundraisers throughout the school year, goes directly to support and enhance the day-to-day experience for students and staff.

This summer, Upper Arlington Schools, the Upper Arlington Education Foundation & Alumni Association, and the Upper Arlington Historical Society are collaborating on a project to archive historical images from Jones Middle School as it prepares to celebrate its 100th year in 2024. Framed images housed in the halls of Jones Middle School celebrate generations of alumni through graduating class composites and individual collages honoring distinguished alumni in what is known as the “Tradition Hall.” Given the age of some of these images and their frames, some are deteriorating or are in need of repair. Through this collaborative effort, these images will be removed from the walls this summer and digitally scanned with the assistance of the Columbus Library to preserve this important history for alumni and the community.
