The August 10, 2021, meeting of the Board of Education included presentations on the following topics:
Superintendent’s update
Teaching & Learning update
Human Resources and operations update
COVID-19 safety protocols and quarantine guidance
Medical Advisory Team Update
Treasurer’s update
Construction update
After listening to an update from the Medical Advisory Team and public participation from parents and community members in the Upper Arlington School district, the Board of Education passed a resolution at last night’s meeting requiring universal masking indoors during the school day for students in preschool through grade 8 and the teachers, staff and visitors in those schools, as well as the district’s School-Age Child Care Program, regardless of vaccination status. The Board of Education also strongly recommended that all others not required to wear a mask under the resolution - including students and staff members at the high school level - wear a mask when indoors on school property and encouraged maximizing outdoor time at all grade levels.
Masking is also currently required for passengers and drivers on all school transportation per a federal order.
