October Construction Update: Five projects are quickly progressing this fall

 
 
The five projects underway in the first phase of the facilities master plan for Upper Arlington Schools are quickly taking shape. Contractors continued to make great progress during September and into October on these projects.

New Upper Arlington High School project
The new academic wing is quickly rising along Ridgeview Road. The concrete foundations are nearly completed, and crews are continuing to install structural steel columns, beams and decking. Masonry walls are also progressing on several of the athletic and arts spaces.

Crews are continuing to put the finishing touches on the renovation project for Marv Moorehead Memorial Stadium.

Barrington Elementary School renovation and addition
The footing and foundation work on the new academic addition is nearly completed. Structural steel arriving will be arriving in late October, with installation scheduled to begin in early November.

New Greensview Elementary School project
The steel frame and the concrete work on the new academic area is nearly completed, and the roof is in place on the new gym and single-story mechanical rooms. Metal stud walls are being installed on the exterior of the structural framing in preparation for brick veneer work.

Tremont Elementary School renovation and addition
Roof trusses are set and interior walls have been framed for the new kindergarten and media center addition on the northwest end of the building along Tremont Road. Inside the building, contractors are making great progress on the second floor renovation project. Contractors are continuing to work second shift on the second floor renovation project to avoid construction noise disrupting the school day.  

New Wickliffe Progressive Elementary School project
Crews are continuing to make progress on the steel installation for the gymnasium and the masonry bearing walls for the academic area in preparation for steel and bar-joist installation in that area of the new building. Roofing work is expected to begin during the month of November.

Construction Timeline
Fall 2019: The high school stadium will be completed.

June 2020: Demolition of the current Windermere building will begin to make way for the new school. The old Wickliffe will serve as transitional space for Windermere students for the 2020-2021 school year.

Fall 2020: The new Greensview and Wickliffe Progressive elementary schools and the renovated Tremont Elementary School will be completed and open to students.

Fall 2021: The new high school and the new Windermere and renovated Barrington elementary schools will be completed and will open to students. Work will continue on the high school site to examine the area where the Pleasant Litchford cemetery was located, demolish the old building and develop athletic fields.

Fall 2022: The new high school site and first phase of the community-developed master plan will be completed.
