Family Update - May 7, 2023

Dear Families,

We had a great time with our 7th grade students during their party Friday afternoon. Many thanks to our PTO for pulling off a fantastic carnival experience for our students!

We are looking forward to our Choir and Orchestra concerts this week! Based on what we have heard in practice, we are in for a treat!

We hope you and your students have had a lovely weekend, and we look forward to welcoming them back tomorrow.

Warm regards,

Aimee C. White

SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL SURVEY FOR GRADES 3-12 - Upper Arlington Schools will engage in the Panorama social-emotional survey for students in grades 3-12. We have been participating in this twice annual survey for two years now, and are impressed with the feedback from students and the quality of feedback the reports provided. Panorama aligns with the well-being priority in our strategic plan and provides valuable feedback to inform our work and meet student needs.

As a school, our students will be engaging in the Panorama survey Tuesday, May 9 during Flex. You may read more information about the survey here. While we ask that all of our students participate, as with all surveys, Panorama is voluntary. If you wish to opt your child out of the Panorama survey, simply email their school counselor and we will honor that request.

In collaboration with valued community partners in UA Schools, UAPD, and local medical and behavioral health experts, The Stand Project has updated and re-released this 7-part series of short videos to educate the community about the facts and risks of youth e-cigarette use - including Aimee White's segment on the effects of nicotine on "Teen Brain Development."
