Jaclyn Prati will be recommended as the next principal of Tremont Elementary School at the May 9 regular meeting of the Board of Education.

Mrs. Prati has been the principal of J.W. Reason Elementary School in Hilliard for 11 years. She was recently named the 2023 Ohio Principal of the Year by the Ohio Association of Elementary School Administrators. Previously, she served 12 years as an elementary teacher and literacy coach in both the Hilliard and South-Western school districts.

Mrs. Prati has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Wheeling Jesuit University and a master's in the art of teaching from Marygrove College in Michigan. She holds an administrative license from the University of Dayton and has National Board Certification in English language arts.

Mrs. Prati was selected for the Tremont principal position following a thorough interview process that included students, staff and parents. She brings to the Tremont community a strong dedication to service, both to her staff as well as the students and families she serves.

Mrs. Prati is a longtime Upper Arlington resident and a parent to four Golden Bears — two at Upper Arlington High School and two at Hastings Middle School.

She will be working closely with Interim Principal Michelle Banks, Ed.D., and Assistant Principal Emily Karst as she prepares to transition to this role in the summer.
