Board of Education sets meetings to interview superintendent search firms

Updated August 17, 2022

The Board of Education is scheduled to meet on Wednesday, August 17 and Thursday, August 18, 2022, to interview three companies that submitted proposals to conduct the search for the next superintendent of the Upper Arlington Schools.

The special meeting of the Board will begin at 3:30 p.m. both days in the Mirolo Theater at Upper Arlington High School, 1625 Zollinger Road.

This summer, Upper Arlington Schools Superintendent Paul Imhoff, Ed.D., announced that he will retire in January 2023.

Following Imhoff’s announcement, the Board of Education took the first step to launch a search process for the next superintendent by requesting proposals from search firms to guide the process.

At their regular meeting on August 9, 2022, the Board of Education narrowed the proposals to three finalists:

  • HYA (Hazard Young Attea Associates)

  • McPherson & Jacobson, LLC

  • Ray and Associates, Inc.

On August 17 and August 18, the Board of Education will interview these three companies, with the goal of voting on a finalist to conduct the search at their meeting on the 18th.

“The Board of Education is committed to setting up a thorough and comprehensive search process and looking forward to prioritizing community engagement and feedback from parents and guardians, students, staff and the school district community as a whole,” Trent said.

The Board of Education will continue to share updates on the process and next steps as they are available at www.uaschools.org/2022SuperintendentSearch.aspx
