Dear UAHS Class of 2024 and families,
We hope your summer is off to a fantastic start!
We are excited to share important information about student parking for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year. As student parking is limited, we want to ensure a fair process for all seniors. Therefore, parking permits will first be made available exclusively to the Class of 2024. However, it is important to note that not all seniors will be guaranteed a parking permit due to the limited number of spaces available.
To prioritize the allocation of parking permits, we strongly encourage seniors to form carpool groups. Each carpool group must have at least one senior with a valid driver’s license, and additional students (up to four) will be considered part of the carpooling arrangement. Carpool groups will be awarded points based on the following criteria:
Two points will be awarded for each senior with a valid driver’s license.
One and a half points will be awarded for each sophomore or junior with a valid driver’s license.
One point will be awarded for each non-driving student member.
The carpool groups with the highest point totals will be given priority in the parking permit lottery, which will take place on June 30, 2023, at 12:00 p.m.
It is worth mentioning that during the previous school year, every senior who applied for a parking pass on behalf of a carpool received one, even those who formed a carpool of one. In the event that parking permits remain available after the June 30 deadline, a secondary lottery will open to juniors and seniors who missed the initial application deadline.
To apply for a parking pass, please click on the link provided below and complete the application form. Please note that applications will not be awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis. They will be prioritized based upon the point total of the carpool. Therefore, we encourage you to take the time to discuss and finalize your carpool arrangements with your neighbors and friends before submitting the application. The application will require you to provide the names, grade levels, student ID numbers, and driver’s license numbers (if applicable) of all passengers. Completed applications must be received by the school by 12:00 p.m. on June 30, 2023. Late applications will not be accepted. Additionally, it is important to remember that students cannot be named on more than one parking permit application.
Senior Parking Application 2023-2024
Parking passes awarded to a carpool group may be used by any of the senior drivers listed on the application. This means the students in the group may take turns driving to school, as long as they bring only one car to school each day. The senior who completes the application will be responsible for the $75 fee, which can be paid via EZ Pay.
We appreciate your understanding and support of this system, which allows us to accommodate as many students as possible with parking permits while also easing the strain on on-street parking.
If you have any questions or need further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact the main office. We are here to help!
Sincerely,
Andrew C. Theado
