Interim superintendent update

Updated November 1, 2022

The Upper Arlington Board of Education will hold a special meeting on Wednesday, November 2 at 4:30 p.m. at Upper Arlington High School, 1625 Zollinger Road, to consider appointing Kathy Jenney, Ed.D., to the position of interim superintendent.

If approved, Dr. Jenney would step into the interim role in January when current superintendent Paul Imhoff, Ed.D., retires.

“I am thrilled that Kathy is willing to take on this role on a temporary basis,” said Board President Lori Trent.  “Between her previous experience as a superintendent and her 10 years of leadership here in the district, she is more than qualified to keep the district running smoothly during this transition period.”

The Board of Education is currently conducting a superintendent search process.  When the new superintendent is selected, Dr. Jenney will be available to assist in the transition up until her retirement on July 31, 2023.

“This feels like the right way to wrap things up,” said Jenney.  “It really has been an honor to work in Upper Arlington Schools, so I’m happy to be able to assist as the next superintendent is selected and gets settled in.”

Once the date, time and location of the special board meeting has been determined, that information will be posted on the Board of Education website.

At this month’s regular meeting of the Board of Education, the Board’s search firm for this process shared an initial presentation to report back on its findings following a series of community engagement opportunities. An update on the findings is available at www.uaschools.org/2022SuperintendentSearch.aspx, where the Board of Education will continue to share updates on the superintendent search process and next steps as they are available.
