Windermere Family Earth Day Celebration: We are excited to share that on April 22d from 6 pm - 7 pm, we will have a very casual Windermere family get together! Now that the weather is warm and we can be outside while also wearing masks and social distancing, we thought it might be nice for families to see each other.

If you have been working on the family choice board together, you might even have done a family rock painting! If not, you can do it on the 22nd! Just bring a rock (any rock will do, but you might want it to be at least the size of your fist to make it easier to paint) and we will supply the painting materials! Mrs. Taylor will be there to help pass supplies out and answer questions!

April 22nd is Earth Day so we will have opportunities to learn more about our earth and what we can do to treat it respectfully and responsibly! We plan to have an educator from SWACO there to share more. We will also feature Mrs. Fox on Wake Up Windermere reading One Plastic Bag: Isatou Ceesay and the Recycling Women of the Gambia by Miranda Paul. We encourage students to bring in plastic bags to Windermere and/or to the event so that we can collect them and bring them in to recycle.

We will be sharing more information about this day with students on Wake Up Windermere leading up to the event. We hope to see you there!

Lost and Found; Please remind your students to check our lost and found. All items will be donated at the end of the year.

Water Bottles and Masks:  PLEASE send your child to school with a water bottle and clean face mask every day.

Family Read Together is now in progress!

It is never too late to join our Family Read Together of Stuart Little!  Last weekend was the kick-off, but we still have three more weeks of reading and fun!  All in-school families should have received a book last weekend and the Online Academy students can find theirs in the office with Ms. Maria. Thank you PTO!  Find all of the information about this event and to participate in the raffle for prizes, click here!  Make sure to mark your calendars for our culminating event on May 6th at 6:15 when our Student Council hosts a Drive-In style movie viewing of the book!

iPAD Updates for Testing

Don’t forget to update your district issued iPAD with the operating system available.

Resource

There is a NEW statewide service for children with disabilities, including those with 504 plans, to receive additional tutoring services during the school year and in summer.  Families must be approved for Learning Aid Ohio (https://www.learningohio.com), be an Ohio resident, have a student with an IEP or 504 plan (any age), and be experiencing financial hardship.

With monies provided by the Governor's Office, the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities funds up to $1,500 per family per quarter to help subsidize the cost of the provider.  The applications and provider payments are managed by the Down Syndrome of Central Ohio (DSACO) even though this is open to all disabilities.
