Update on the Medical Advisory Team and the DRAFT matrix for all-in learning

Dear Upper Arlington families,

As I mentioned in Friday’s update, I want to share the draft matrix that our Medical Advisory Team has crafted for defining when we might be able to safely transition into an all-in model for students in the school-based pathway.

While we know that the current COVID-19 data is headed in the wrong direction for a change to all-in, we want to be ready to move that way when things are looking better.

The district continues to work with the Medical Advisory Team to develop matrices that will guide other potential transitions — such as back to hybrid or even to enhanced distance learning.

We wanted to share this first piece of the puzzle now, so that students and families can see the types of data our experts are focused on in making these transitions.

The Board of Education plans to consider this framework at its next meeting, which is scheduled for November 17.

I will continue to share updates with you as the advisory team progresses with its work.  I’ll say again - it’s been fascinating to listen in on their discussions, and I’m honored that individuals with such a high level of expertise continue to be so dedicated to our community.

Have a great afternoon, and as always, go Bears!

Sincerely,
Paul Imhoff, Ed.D.
Superintendent, Upper Arlington Schools
