UA Schools teachers, staff honored for excellence, service

Congratulations to the more than 50 Upper Arlington Schools teachers and staff members who were honored for their dedication to students and service to the district at the annual staff Convocation on August 13.

Receiving district-level employee of the year awards were:
  • Administrator of the Year: Tammy Yockey, assistant principal, Jones Middle School
  • District Teachers of the Year: Elizabeth Ingraham, Windermere Elementary School, and Jonni Ford, Burbank Early Childhood School
  • Classified Employees of the Year: Phillip de Roche, district maintenance coordinator (Operations); Claudia Leveto, bus driver (Transportation); Diane Sauner, cook, Burbank Early Childhood School (Food Service); and Kirsten Schaefer, Program Secretary for Operations (Secretarial).
  • Support Staff Employee of the Year: Jeanne Trexler, educational aide, Greensview Elementary School

Receiving a building-level teacher of the year award were:

  • Amy Barger, intervention specialist, Greensview Elementary School
  • Lindsay Bennett, art, Wickliffe Progressive Elementary School
  • Angela Brooks, music specialist, Barrington Elementary School
  • Brian Chandler, math, Upper Arlington High School
  • Lindsey Chisholm, art, Tremont Elementary School
  • Carrie Stieg, language arts, Hastings Middle School
  • Jill White, math, Jones Middle School

Also honored with a Nancy Losekamp Career Development Leadership Award for their work to engage students in service learning were: Michelle Johnson, fourth grade, Greensview Elementary School; Richard Wharton, science, Jones Middle School; and Eva Frustaci, business, Upper Arlington High School.

Additionally, 28 staff members were recognized for 20 years of service to Upper Arlington Schools, and six employees were recognized for 30 years of service.
