10 UAHS students receive regional Scholastic art awards
"Taking Action" by Paige P.Ten Upper Arlington High School students have been recognized among the top student artists in the region through the 2019 Central Ohio Regional Scholastic Art Awards. From thousands of entries, these students received two Gold Key awards, five Silver Key awards and 12 honorable mentions in eight categories.

Students are awarded Gold Keys for the very best works submitted locally, and these works automatically advance to the national level for medal consideration. Silver Keys are awarded for “stand-out” works that demonstrate exceptional ability, and Honorable Mention for works that demonstrate great skill and potential. 

From Upper Arlington High School, Alex K., junior, received a Gold Key award in animation, and Paige P., senior, received a Gold Key in Drawing and Illustration.

Receiving Silver Key awards were: Olivia C., senior, photography; Caitlin C., sophomore, drawing; Ava T., freshman, painting; and Katie Z., senior, both in the categories of painting and drawing and illustration.

Katie Z. also received an Honorable Mention in sculpture, and Olivia C. received three Honorable Mention awards in photography.

Also receiving Honorable Mentions were: Renee A., senior, mixed media; Asher F., senior, with four awards in digital art, art portfolio and drawing; Hayden J., sophomore, drawing; and Emma W., sophomore, with two awards in painting.
