High school, elementary projects on schedule, on budget after rainy June

The five projects underway in the first phase of the facilities master plan for Upper Arlington Schools remain on schedule and on budget after an unprecedented amount of rain during the month of June.

The construction crews on all five sites have found resourceful and creative solutions to the June rainfall to keep the projects on schedule.

Since March, crews from Ruscilli Construction have been onsite at the high school doing the initial site preparations for the new high school building. Footing and foundation work is well underway, and in the early fall the steel structure for the new building will begin to take shape.

The most noticeable change on the high school site is the progress on the stadium project. The new home bleachers, bandstand and scoreboard are up. The walls of the concessions building and visitors locker room are completed, and the roof trusses will soon be in place. The track asphalt will also soon be installed.

The first element of the new high school site - the stadium - is on schedule to be completed for fall sports in August.

Construction is also underway on our first four elementary projects - the new Greensview and Wickliffe and the renovation and addition to Barrington and Tremont.

Since May, crews from Elford and Gilbane construction companies have begun initial site and building preparations on those four sites. Over the next two months, underground utility, footing and foundation work will progress in preparation for new construction or additions on the four sites. At Tremont, interior demolition has begun in preparation for the renovation portion of the project there.
