Board of Education requests applicants following passing of Robin Comfort
Upper Arlington Board of Education member Robin Comfort passed away on July 8, 2019.  Robin was in her 12th year of service on the board and was a lifelong advocate for Upper Arlington students.

“Robin will be greatly missed,” said Board of Education President Stacey Royer.  “She made tremendous contributions to our school district and our community.  I think I can speak on behalf of all of the board members when I say we are grateful we had the opportunity to serve alongside Robin.”

Under Ohio law, the Board of Education is required to fill the vacancy on the board within 30 days.  All individuals interested in filling the board vacancy should submit notice of interest to Treasurer/CFO Andrew Geistfeld.  Notices should be concise and respond to the following prompts:
  • Why the applicant is interested in being part of the Board of Education; and
  • What experiences or qualifications the applicant has for this role.

Notices of interest may be submitted by email to [email protected] or delivered to the district central office at 1950 North Mallway Drive, Upper Arlington, Ohio 43221, no later than 4 p.m. on Friday, July 26, 2019.

The board will meet at 12 p.m. on Friday, August 2, 2019, at the district central office to review the submitted notices and select a person to fill the vacant seat.  There will be no interviews conducted for the opening.  If you have any questions about the process, please contact Treasurer/CFO Andrew Geistfeld at [email protected] or (614) 487-5000.

The person selected to fill this vacancy will be sworn in on a future date and will serve the remainder of Robin Comfort’s term, which ends on December 31, 2019.
