November Construction Update: Projects remain on schedule, on budget
Construction is progressing very quickly on the five projects underway in the first phase of the facilities master plan as we prepare for winter. Contractors continued to make great progress during October and into November on these projects.
New Upper Arlington High School project
On the high school site, installation of structural steel and masonry walls is continuing throughout the new building. Plumbing and electric contractors are continuing the under-slab rough-in in preparation for the placement of concrete floors in the academic and athletic areas.
The new auditorium and new competition gymnasium are taking shape, and crews have begun excavation work on the new natatorium.
Barrington Elementary School renovation and addition
The academic addition is progressing quickly. The concrete slab and decking are in place, and structural steel installation continues.
New Greensview Elementary School project
The structural steel and exterior metal stud walls are completed, and the brick veneer is progressing nicely. The interior classrooms are framed throughout the first and second floors.
Tremont Elementary School renovation and addition
The new kindergarten and media center addition is progressing nicely. Roof trusses are set, interior walls are framed, and the electric and plumbing rough-in is substantially complete. Brick work is underway.
Inside Tremont, the second floor renovation continues to progress in preparation for the installation of drywall in the new classroom spaces.
New Wickliffe Progressive Elementary School project
Crews are continuing to make progress on the installation of structural steel and masonry bearing walls. The roof on the gymnasium, cafeteria and office area is completed.
Construction Timeline
June 2020: Demolition of the current Windermere building will begin to make way for the new school. The old Wickliffe will serve as transitional space for Windermere students for the 2020-2021 school year.
Fall 2020: The new Greensview and Wickliffe Progressive elementary schools and the renovated Tremont Elementary School will be completed and open to students.
Fall 2021: The new high school and the new Windermere and renovated Barrington elementary schools will be completed and will open to students. Work will continue on the high school site to examine the area where the Pleasant Litchford cemetery was located, demolish the old building and develop athletic fields.
Fall 2022: The new high school site and first phase of the community-developed master plan will be completed.
