At the May 9 regular meeting, the Upper Arlington Board of Education will consider Greg Thompson for the position of chief operating officer of the Upper Arlington Schools.

Mr. Thompson has served as the director of business services for Beavercreek City Schools, near Dayton, for nearly seven years. He has extensive experience in all aspects of district operations, including safety and security, construction and facilities master planning, maintenance, transportation and nutritional services.

“Greg is an excellent addition to our administrative team as we continue to focus on continuous improvement in everything we do,” said Dr. Robert Hunt, the incoming superintendent of the Upper Arlington Schools. “He is committed to seeking out financial efficiencies while keeping the focus on the student experience by ensuring they have safe and healthy learning environments where they can thrive.”

Mr. Thompson got his start in school operations in Dublin City Schools, where he served in various roles, including maintenance worker and groundskeeper. He later served as a facility administrator for Aramark in Dublin City Schools, managing all custodial operations for 23 buildings in the district.
