Construction Update: Projects progressing on schedule through pandemic
Construction has continued to progress over the past few months on schedule and on budget. The governor’s office had deemed construction an essential business during the stay at home order, and crews have continued to work on all five school sites here in UA while implementing additional health and safety precautions.

Here is an update for the spring of 2020 on all projects in the community-developed facilities master plan.

Greensview Elementary School
There has been a lot of activity recently at Greensview. Interior finishes on the new building are quickly progressing, and site work is well underway. Over the past few weeks, demolition work began on the older classroom areas of the original Greensview. While we are sad to see the old building go, we are excited about a bright future ahead for the new Greensview, which will be completed for the start of the upcoming school year.

Wickliffe Progressive Elementary School
The new Wickliffe building is also on schedule to open this fall. Windows are going in, drywall installation and painting are progressing, and masonry work continues on the exterior of the building.

Tremont Elementary School
The Tremont project will also be completed for the start of the 2020-2021 school year.  The renovation of the first floor learning spaces will be moving quickly over the next two months. Some exterior finishes are also being completed on the new media center and kindergarten addition.

Barrington Elementary School
The new addition is progressing quickly in preparation for an August opening. Windows have been installed, brick work is completed on the courtyard side of the addition, and finishes and flooring will be going in very soon. The renovation project inside the current school building has also started, and that will be completed in two phases for this fall and the fall of 2021.

Windermere Elementary School
New to our construction update is the Windermere project, which will be getting underway very soon. We know our Windermere staff, families and friends feel an incredible loss not being able to say goodbye to their building in the way we all had hoped, but we are excited about all of the memories we will create in their temporary home at the old Wickliffe building next year and then the new Windermere building beginning in the fall of 2021.

Look for special video tours of Windermere, Greensview and Wickliffe on our website.

Upper Arlington High School
If you drive past the new building along Brandon Road, the progress over the past few months has been nothing short of amazing! Brick work is well underway on the academic and athletic spaces. Roof work is quickly progressing to dry-in the building, and exterior precast panels have been put in place to enclose the auditorium. Inside the building, mechanical, electrical and plumbing rough-ins are continuing in the academic areas. Golden Bear Boulevard, the auditorium and the natatorium are all quickly taking shape.
