Important updates and forms for our Responsible Restart Plan
This morning, the Board of Education approved the updated Upper Arlington Schools Responsible Restart Plan as it was presented during the Tuesday, July 28 meeting.

All students will begin school on Wednesday, August 19 in either the UA Online Academy or school-based pathway.

School-based pathway
Following the guidance from Franklin County Public Health, students in the school-based pathway will begin the year in the Enhanced Distance Learning model.  We will continue in that manner through at least Friday, September 18.

During this time, Franklin County Public Health officials will be evaluating all of the available surveillance data and communicating its observations with us weekly.  If health officials feel it is safe/appropriate to transition to our in-person hybrid learning model, we would do so no earlier than Monday, September 21.

Again, to be clear, we are guaranteeing that we will stay in the Enhanced Distance through at least September 18 to allow families and staff members the ability to plan ahead.  We are not guaranteeing that we will be able to return to school in person on September 21.  We will follow public health guidance and make a decision about a return to the in-person hybrid schedule based upon that recommendation. We will provide updates to families and staff members as we continue to learn more from public health officials.

We have received questions about the status of athletics and other activities, and high school and middle school families will be receiving an update from their principals later today.

UA Online Academy pathway
Students interested in the UA Online Academy pathway can choose to begin the school year in the Academy or in the Enhanced Distance Learning model with the students on the school-based pathway.  When the students in the school-based pathway are able to transition to in-person hybrid learning, the students on the UA Online Academy pathway will be able to join the others who have opted for full-time remote learning.
