Important update - Board of Education special meeting set for Monday, November 23

Dear Upper Arlington families,

In the short time since my last email, a lot has changed. Yesterday afternoon, Franklin County moved to purple, the highest level on the Ohio Public Health Advisory System. Later in the day, we received updated guidance from local health officials advising a move to virtual or remote learning for the duration of the stay-at-home advisory, which begins tonight and runs through December 18.

We are taking time to review the new guidance, consult with our Medical Advisory Team and look closely at our staffing concerns. After reviewing all of this information, the Board of Education will hold a special meeting on Monday, November 23 to consider a possible transition to Enhanced Distance Learning.

The meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. and will be held virtually in accordance with recent public health guidance. The meeting will be live-streamed on our district YouTube channel.

As a reminder, Monday and Tuesday (November 23 and 24) will be enhanced distance learning days for students in our school-based pathway, as approved by the Board of Education earlier this week.

After the Board meeting on Monday, we will communicate with families about our plans following Thanksgiving break. Please be safe and enjoy your weekend.

Sincerely,

Paul Imhoff, Ed.D.

Superintendent, Upper Arlington Schools
