Submit Your Initial Registration Application

To begin the registration process, please complete a short application form with your student’s information, your household information and your school preference so that our Registration Office can verify your student’s eligibility and attendance area. For school preference, please select your residential school; if you are interested in the progressive program at Barrington or Wickliffe Progressive elementary schools, or if you are interested in intra-district open enrollment to another school, you will be prompted to complete that information in the registration forms (Step 2). 

Applications will be approved during business hours, Monday through Friday. Please allow up to 24 hours, depending on volume, for your application to be processed.

After you complete the application form, you will receive two emails:

1. Your application has been received; 

2. Your application has been approved and you may proceed to completing the online registration forms (Step 2) using the unique required credentials at the bottom of the email.

If you do not receive these emails, please check your spam folder. If you still have not received the emails, or if you have difficulty accessing the online application form, please contact enrollment@uaschools.org or call 614-487-7676.

Complete Online Registration Forms

(approximately 45 minutes)

Once you receive the second email, you may complete the online registration forms in PowerSchool, our student information system. You’ll need the unique credentials at the bottom of the second email in order to either add a new student to your existing PowerSchool parent account or to create a new PowerSchool parent account. This case sensitive information is NOT the username and password for logging in. Please refer to the second email for instructions.

Parents/guardians with an existing PowerSchool account

Log in to the Parent Portal using your existing username and password. Click on Account Preferences in the left navigation column. Click on the Students tab, then click the Add button.  A popup window will open.  Complete the requested information by using the access ID and password listed at the end of the email you received.

Parents/guardians new to PowerSchool

Click on the Create Account tab on the PowerSchool log-in page. You will be prompted to enter your name and email address and a username and password. To link your student to the account, scroll down to Link Students to Account and use the access ID and password listed at the end of the email you received.

Once you are logged in to your PowerSchool parent account, select the Forms link in the left navigation column. Individually select and complete ALL of the required forms. Click the Submit button at the bottom of each form to save your work. 

You will need the following information to complete these forms:

• Name, address and phone number of the last school (including preschool) your student attended.

• The names and contact numbers of two emergency contacts other than parent(s)/guardian(s) — trusted local adults the school can contact if the parent(s)/guardian(s) cannot be reached.

• Your student's detailed health information to be provided confidentially to the school nurse.

• If applicable, custody information regarding your student. Supporting documentation will be collected later in the enrollment process.

Progressive Program at Barrington and Wickliffe

In the online registration forms for your student, you will also be asked if you would like for your student to attend the progressive instructional program at either Barrington or Wickliffe, based on your attendance area of residence. Upper Arlington Schools is proud to offer a progressive instructional program at Barrington and Wickliffe Progressive elementary schools. This program is an alternative to the Upper Arlington Schools K-5 curriculum, which serves a majority of our elementary students and is offered at Barrington, Greensview, Tremont and Windermere elementary schools to students living in those attendance areas.

The progressive instructional delivery model is a choice program based on the 10 Foundational Principles of Progressive Education, which you can read more about on the Barrington and Wickliffe sections of our website.

Students living in the Barrington attendance area may choose to enroll in the alternative progressive  program at Barrington at the time of registration. Wickliffe is a school of choice and does not have an attendance boundary as it offers the alternative progressive / informal program to students living in the Greensview, Tremont and Windermere attendance areas.

If you choose the progressive program, you will be prompted to fill out a Progressive Program Choice Form during the online registration process.

Log In to PowerSchool

Upload Required Documents

As you complete your online forms, you will need to upload the required documentation in the PowerSchool Parent Portal. Please name each file with your student’s FIRST and LAST name as it appears on the birth certificate, and the contents of the file (i.e. Sam Smith Birth Certificate.pdf).

You are required to provide the following documents: 

• Child’s Birth Certificate, Passport or Adoption Records — if using a passport, parents must provide additional documentation to verify their relationship to the child. 

• Photo ID — a current driver's license or passport for the parent/guardian finalizing registration.

• Proof of Residency — please provide one of the following:

  • Summary page from the Franklin County Auditor's Office website showing as occupied by owner

  • Current mortgage statement or deed with the name(s) of parent(s)/guardian(s) listed and a recent (within 30 days) utility bill

  • Entire current and signed rental/lease agreement with name(s) of parent(s)/guardian(s) listed. Name and phone number of the landlord must be provided in order to verify the lease. A new lease will be required each year upon expiration.

  • Purchase/contract agreement to buy property with an application for a temporary waiver.

  • Residency Affidavit form 511f2b if you are living with a relative who resides within the district or in the home of a relative who resides within the district. The homeowner must provide proof of residency. The affidavit must be renewed at the beginning of each school year.

• Proof of Immunization. Please have your physician complete this Immunization Report or contact your physician’s office for a copy of your child's immunization record. You must submit this at the time of registration, even if it is not complete.  Please consult the Immunization Information for Enrollment for more information.

• Custody Papers, if applicable. In accordance with Ohio Revised Code 3313.67.2 and the Missing Children’s Act, the parent/guardian must provide a certified copy of the divorce decree and parenting plan allocating parental rights and responsibilities and/or other documents allocating custody or guardianship.

• Other documents, if applicable:

  • Individualized Education Program (IEP)

  • Multifactored Evaluation (MFE)

  • Evaluation Team Report (ETR)

  • Section 504 Plan

You will then be asked to confirm that all forms and file uploads are completed and ready for a member of the team to review. 

Please note: Registration cannot be completed and your student may not begin school without the above documents. If you already have a student in the district, you will still need to provide the above documentation to complete the registration process.

Confirm Registration Via Phone Appointment

After your documents and online forms are reviewed, you will receive an email from our Welcome Center to schedule a brief phone appointment to confirm your student’s registration. If you do not receive an email, please call 614-487-7676.
