February 2024 strategic planning update

Teams made up of more than 60 students, staff, parents and community members officially kicked off the strategic planning process in the month of February.

The staff, parents and community members on the Strategic Coordination Team gathered for the first time on February 5.  This team is designed to assist in coordinating the work between the inquiry teams, providing coherence through guidance and feedback.

Later in the month, the three Strategic Inquiry Teams, made up of students, staff, parents and community members, launched their work in a full-day session designed to learn about the work ahead of them.  They learned about the primary inquiry areas — engaged learning, well-being and engagement, and connection and communication — developed from the feedback gathered from stakeholders through the Listen Learn Lead process, Dr. Hunt’s UAdventure and the district equity audit.  Team members also set up team charters, participated in future forecasting activities and prepared to identify possible secondary themes.

The Strategic Inquiry Teams came together for a second time in February to begin developing inquiry plans for each of the three primary areas.  These plans include identifying additional data sources and finalizing secondary inquiry questions.
