Principal Wulf's Weekly News - 5/6/24

Dear Greenview Elementary School Families,

What an amazing week of weather!  I know that I took full advantage of the warmth and sunshine this past week.  It is fun to feel the palpable energy from the children as the weather has continued to improve.  We have a busy schedule over the final three weeks of school.  Please be sure to check the calendar for all of the events and offerings!

Have a wonderful weekend.

From the Health Clinic:

Friendly Reminder -  If your child borrows clothes from the clinic due to an accident or spill, can you please return them as soon as you are able. We are running low on pants and shorts of all sizes and both genders.  Also, if your child has recently outgrown pants or shorts that you would be willing to donate to the clinic for kids to borrow, that would be appreciated.

Walk, Bike, or Roll to School challenge!

Spring into Spring with the 20-Day or 20-Mile Challenge! Our Greensview PE teachers are encouraging families to walk, bike, or roll to school for 20 days this spring (or to complete another movement activity for 20 days if walking to school is not possible). Challenge sheets will be sent home with students. Bring completed sheets to school on 5/8 for a special incentive charm!

On Wednesday, 5/8, we will hold a Walk, Bike, or Roll to School event to celebrate spring and student successes with the 20-Day Challenge. Like in the fall, we will have 4 meet-up spots for student and parent/caregiver walking groups to walk to school together. The meet-up points will be for walkers only for the safety of our students, but anyone is encouraged to walk, ride, or bike to school on their own timing if they prefer.

If you are able and interested, we need volunteers to help the morning of 5/8 with walking groups:  https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0849A5AF2BA0FCC07-49032285-spring

Dear Parent/Caregiver,

The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce (ODEW) would like to invite you to participate in a short, 25-question survey about your involvement in your student’s education.  Research suggests that parental involvement is a key predictor of positive educational outcomes. You may be eligible to participate if your child has an IEP and receives special education services.  The purpose of collecting this information is to improve services for students with disabilities across Ohio.  If you are eligible to participate and you enroll in the study, you will be entered in a drawing for a $50 gift card.  Your chance of winning a gift card is approximately 2.0%.  Please click on this link or use the QR (Quick Response) code (see below) to find out more about the survey and if you are eligible.

Sincerely,

David Julian, Ph.D.

Special Education Family Survey Director
