District launches process to gather feedback for 2020-2021 school year

Planning process graphic During the months of May and June, Upper Arlington Schools is embarking on a three-phase rapid-design process to create a plan for the 2020-2021 school year. To do that, we’re going to do what we always do in UA — we will be gathering as much feedback as possible from our students, families and staff. Your voice matters!

Based on what the governor's office has shared with all of us, we know that the 2020-2021 school year will look different than school years of the past. Like all other school districts in Ohio, we will work within the framework of guidelines from state and local health officials for the fall. We've all seen what a fluid situation this has been, and we will need to continue to be as flexible as possible.

Our planning and engagement process will feel very familiar. We will look at this challenge through the lens of continuous improvement, the foundational element of our new strategic plan, to come up with an innovative plan for our schools.  The safety and well-being of our staff, our students and our community will be a top priority in our final plans. And, as always, we will be guided by our belief that All Means All in UA, our mission to challenge and support every student, every step of the way, and our values — Start with Heart, Strength in Team and Contagious Drive.

This process is divided into three phases, and it will move quickly, culminating in a recommendation from Superintendent Paul Imhoff, Ed.D., to the Board of Education in late June.
