Windermere Weekly Family Update 4-24-21

Thank you so much Ms. Taylor, Mrs. O’Keefe, Mrs. X, Swaco and PTO!!!!  Last night’s Earth Day rock painting party outside was a success.  The rocks were outstanding.  We have many creative students at Windermere.  Windermere truly does ROCK!  Thank you families for coming out on such a cool evening.

A Windermere staff member’s daughter wrote the poem below.  It’s pretty awesome, right?  And, SO true!  I thought you might enjoy it too!

Weird Weather

Yesterday was 60.

Today is 23.

Tomorrow will be 45.

The next day will be 90.

The weather is so weird here,

I really wonder why.

Oh well is that the best you got?

It might as well rain pie.

Well, welcome to Ohio.

I hope you like it here.

Tomorrow will be 83.

The snow will disappear.

Riley, grade 3

Have a great weekend, Windermere.

Julie

Change Makers Face MasksWe wanted to share a project that 4th and 5th graders at Greensview and Windermere have been working on throughout the year. These students were part of a group called Change Makers. They collaborated on creating ways to raise awareness about and encourage inclusion and belonging. Students designed artwork for face masks and created flyers and videos marketing the masks. They also created PSA videos to raise awareness about the message of inclusion. You may have seen the flier come home but we thought you might like to see the masks in color so we've attached a flyer with pictures and how to order a mask if you would like one and how to donate to the UA+Ed fund that helped us purchase the masks. Quantities are limited so first come, first served! The kids thought it would be so cool to see their message around the community! Here is the direct link to order and the direct link to donate. Donations are optional. The recommended donation is $5. All donations will go back into the Pleasant Litchford Fund with the Upper Arlington Foundation, which is the fund that was used to purchase the masks.

Below you will find a couple of videos that students made:
