School Counseling

Upper Arlington High School's school counselors seek to support the needs of all students, collaboratively working with teachers, support staff, administrators and families to ensure the academic and social-emotional success of our students both here in Upper Arlington and in their next step in life.

Our mission is to provide all students with a comprehensive school-counseling program, centered around an engaging curriculum that encourages the highest level of resiliency, social/emotional growth, college/career and academic achievement. In partnering with teachers, administrators and a caring community, school counselors advocate for all students and help them become successful lifelong learners and problem solvers.

Our school counseling program aims to help students:

  • Understand the skills needed to achieve academically and deal with academic challenges
  • Learn how to manage emotions and apply interpersonal skills
  • Recognize their skills and interests, and understand the options that are available in their future following graduation

Services provided by the school counselors are available to ALL students. When needed, and in consultation with the parents/guardians of a student, school counselors will seek referrals for additional support through our partnership with The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Behavioral Health Services.
