What Students & Parents Say

Deborah Tarr "As both a parent and a teacher, I have personally observed the benefits the Community School program provides to students.  This progressive, student-centered approach to teaching remarkably increases student engagement and success.  I believe that the empowerment students experience in CS will lay a foundation for lifelong learning and achievement in all areas of their lives. Dave Hamlin "Students get to perform an Odyssey Experience which allows the students to have hands on, real work interaction.  Topics are taught between different classroom subjects. Classes are taught in blocks which allow students a greater amount of time to interacting with the teachers."

Dave Hamlin, Community School parent
Stacy Hall "Community School has been a great environment for my son!  I’ve been impressed with the interest sparked through interactive and group learning. The teachers are focused on the strengths of the individuals while engaging the class as a whole unit."

Anna Franciso "I now go to Columbus State and go there twice a week. I am studying to become a hospital administrator, and when I am done with my two years at Columbus State I plan on going to Ohio State. In my free time I now baby-sit and work at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. I continue to help at the food pantry that I did my odyssey at and am now a member of that church!"
